Letter: Low water plants would make better landscaping

Posted

I’ve driven past Woodlake Circle a number of times recently and noticed they are re-landscaping at their entrance. This has been going on for a couple of weeks, but today I was shocked to see they are installing new turf.

I appreciate the fact this is a HOA, but one would think that while we are in one of the worst droughts ever in the state of California, the HOA would have used this opportunity to opt for low water use plants, and do something to set an example for the rest of our community. There are so many attractive low water use plants, shade trees and no-mow grasses. Maybe the rest of Lodi will observe and learn that taking the time to replace a landscape is an opportunity to save water, not just do the same old thing.

For more information on how to have a thriving landscape and save water, go to www.ecolandscape.org and educate yourself on the possibilities.
