Letter: Has political correctness gone too far?

Posted

Now our illustrious Legislature and governor have passed a bill allowing kids from kindergarten through 12th grade to use the bathroom of their choosing, depending on which gender they feel like.

This means a 15-year-old boy who is being flooded by hormones can decide he wants to see girls get undressed, so he goes to school and announces that he feels like a female today, then goes to the girls’ locker room and bathroom to get changed for gym class so he can scope out the girls undressing. Would you want your 15-year-old daughter in the same locker room and bathroom as Hormone Harry?

They say they don’t want the sexually confused kids (a small minority) to feel intimidated into keeping their identity a secret. Well, what about the straight kids (the vast majority) who feel threatened having an opposite-sex kid in their bathroom? This LGBT rights thing has gone too far, and the spineless politicians and mainstream media have happily bought into it.

When an athlete or other celebrity (or anyone else, for that matter) say they believe homosexuality is wrong, they are immediately called a homophobe and looked on with disgust. However, when someone mocks Christianity and denigrates Jesus, there is silence. Why aren’t they called Christophobes? If one uses an anti-gay slur, they are immediately vilified for using offensive and hateful language, but when someone says Godd**m or uses Jesus’ name as a swear word, no one says anything. Well, these two swear words are highly offensive to me as a Christian. But no one really cares.

There is definitely a double standard here.

This is the United States of America, and we have the freedom to state and follow our beliefs. I believe that homosexuality violates God’s standard for sexuality, and I will say so. It doesn’t make me a homophobe or hateful. I’m just standing on what I believe.

Our state and country have fully embraced the LGBT agenda and have crossed the line into the lunacy of political correctness. Have you had enough yet?
