I hope you never tire of letters citing the goodness of Lodi’s fire and police departments. On March 2, after leaving a doctor’s appointment and on my way to another I had the misfortune of a mechanical breakdown of my car and ended up in a hazardous position near the corner of Ham and Vine streets.
I could have easily been hit by oncoming traffic but thanks to firefighter Allen and his crew, who by chance happened along and blocked traffic until Lodi Police Officer Hilton arrived to take over.
Both the officer and the firemen asked if I had a way home after my car was towed for repairs. Not having anyone, they all offered to drive me home. I was very distraught and their offers were truly appreciated. As it turned out Luis from Oscar’s Auto Repair drove me home. I just wanted to openly thank Lodi’s great public servants for their much appreciated help and concern.
