The Ruiz family is very, very pleased with the Lodi community and surrounding area. We are doing good. Everyone donated something, and we would like to thank everyone and tell them that we appreciate their prayers and their help and support.

We got a lot of clothes and furniture. They made our lives so much better. We love the people in Lodi, but the main thing is that it is good to know there is more good in people's hearts than the violence in the community. They helped us get out of a really big hole.

Editor's note: The home of Joanna and Juan Ruiz near Lower Sacramento Road and Century Boulevard was destroyed by fire on Nov. 10. Their possessions were destroyed as well.
