Illegal immigration and patriotic expression

There are bleeding heart liberals all over California wringing their collective hands regarding the recent legislation that was passed in Arizona regarding "illegal" immigration.

Note that I emphasized the word illegal. Illegal means prohibited by law or by official or accepted rules.

I believe that all states should pass similar legislation since our federal government refuses to protect this country. It is time the states step up to the plate and do the job to help prevent incidents such as the following:

In the Morgan Hill Unified School District, students at Live Oak High School were suspended for expressing their American patriotism on a day that means virtually nothing to this country. I refer to the Cinco de Mayo incident. Since when do we in our own country have to bow and scrape to those celebrating the holiday of a foreign country? But this is exactly what the students were expected to do.

Americans should never have to relinquish their right to express their patriotism while living in this country. This is the United States of America. Red, white and blue are our patriotic colors, and we should be able to proudly wear these colors at anytime. We have allowed our state/country to be taken away from us by those who break our laws by coming to this country illegally. I am not giving up my country without a fight.

Arlene Farley

Granted, I should of proof read, but if that is the best you have... You stated when I learn to speak proper English you will answer my question. We both KNOW you have no answers or you would of provided them instead of attacking. Can you even attempt to answer the questions or are you too busy proof reading?

"WHY should they of had...""but they NEVER should of had...""I do not have to turn it inside out on St Patrick's day?"When you learn to speak proper English I will answer your questions.

My understanding is that because of problems in prior years ALL STUDENTS were told not to wear any flags from ANY countries nor wear the colors of any countries. The VP Rodriguez went out gunning for white people and ignored all the mexicans that were wearing/carrying mexican colors and flags. that is the problem with the Morgan Hill incident.

Arlene, you introduction was pure wing nut hogwash. This being said, I agreed with the rest of your letter.

just asking, WHY should they of had to turn their shirts inside out or go home? If I went to Mexico and was wearing a shirt with the Mexican flag, would I, under any circumstances be ask to turn it inside out? I do not have to turn it inside out on St Patrick's day? What makes Cinco day more important? Good for them for going home, but they NEVER should of had to make a choice. Some people argue that is the only day the Mexican's have to celebrate. Does that mean they can never wear a Mexican flag any other day cause that is United States day and it would be offensive to us? This is America NOT Mexico

I believe the total cost of illegal entry into the United States is around sevenBillion dollars and in actuality much more. Immigrant associated with theIllegal’s is a slap in the face of the people who do it the right way, legally !!

You have to love this inept Obama regime, Michael Posner, Obama's assistant Sec. of State tells China, the most vile human rights violator on the planet that Arizona's law is an "example of a troubling trend" in the US, and a "indication of discrimination or potential discrimination" in American society. Wonder how Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder, or his DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano feel about the new Arizona law, oh wait, neither of them has read it. You just can't make this kind of stuff up.

Is it my imagination, or did they edit this letter after it was first posted? I could swear it originally contained some very ugly (uglier than the rest) comments. And Arlene, the students were not "suspended." They were asked to either turn their flag shirts inside out or go home and change. They chose to leave.

Hey Arlene, maybe all the businesses that benefited from extra sales related to Cinco de Mayo should give away their profits in protest? Yeah, didn't think so.

What's there to complain about, LA Mayor Villaraigosa told reporters that illegals, "add to the economic might" of Cali. The problem is that LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich says that LA County spends a 1/2 billion in welfare for children who's parents are illegal. He said 1/2 billion per year is spent on criminal aliens in California jails, he also adds in another another 400 million in health services for illegals, all this in just one county in California. Legislative Analyst Dan Carson says California spends $4.8 billion just to provide services or to incarcerate illegals.

Mazie: just make sure you've got your birth certificate, too. The documents you listed only show you can drive. I'm sure you'll just love the law when you have to go down to the jailhouse and wait for someone to fetch your documents and bring them to you.

Instead of coming to the US. the “Undocumented immigrants” stay home and overthrow their government, annihilate the drug cartels and make acountry they can be proud to call home.. “Undocumented immigrants” IGuess the do-gooders came up with that terminology to gather sympathy for the PO-Folks, one would have to admit it sounds better than wetback!

Amen! Arizona has the right idea. I blame Obama for not closing the borders. He is afraid of losing the Mexican votes, and i think we should impeach him. He is killing our wonderful country and still blaming it on Bush. What a loser president we have. I saw where they granted his illegal aunt asylum. That is wrong, especially since they will not say why it was granted (gee probably since she is the president's sister YA THINK?). I say every person in the U.S. should be asked to prove their citizenship, that way we are not picking on the poor little illegal mexicans. waaaa! If we are stopped by the cops we have to show our license and registration and proof of insurance. how is it different for illegals? they think they should be overlooked? talk about double standard. I had to get this off my chest LOL

Just like the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. CA is still afloat, but the outcome is already predetermined....this state is doomed. Those that have been elected have taken this state down a path of ruin. The ONLY way to save CA is to cut of the state south of the Grapevine and give it back to Mexico....then build a wall at the altomount and keep the wackadoodles in the Bay area....
