Primary elections are on June 3 and we are fortunate to have a local candidate, Manuel Martin, running to represent us in the 9th Assembly District.

I don’t care for politicians, I am frustrated with what the election process has become, and I don’t vote by party. After getting to know Manuel, I believe he is sincere in his convictions to reduce government intrusion in our lives, and he will fight for the return to a government run according to the confines of the Constitution.

One of his opponent’s handouts says he supports clean air and water. I’ve never met a candidate opposed to clean air and water. Manuel isn’t afraid to address tougher issues like our current representatives’ attempts to demolish Proposition 13, which limits the amount our property taxes can be raised. Prior to Prop. 13, many people had to sell their homes because they couldn’t afford the escalating taxes.

Manuel believes in the Second Amendment and that responsible, law-abiding gun owners shouldn’t have their Constitutional rights infringed upon to compensate for the actions of criminals.

He understands our water concerns and has ideas to address them.

If you want someone committed to eliminating unnecessary spending, and legislating according to the wishes of his constituents, not for personal gain or political aspirations, consider voting for Manuel Martin. Visit his website at www.manuelforassembly.com. I have no doubt he will personally respond to you and answer any questions you have.
