Question raised about how Downtown Lodi Farmers Market locations are assigned
I was glad to attend the first Lodi Farmers Market and see it looked like the start of a good year.
We couldn't help but notice that at the first market of the season Lockeford Sausage has been given a prime food booth location on their very first appearance, as well as newspaper headlines, while those who are returning and loyal vendors have been pushed to the less desirable spaces. This hardly seems fair to those who have worked so hard over the past years to establish a steady following.
Once again it appears that the "good ol' boy" system is alive and well in Lodi. It seems to be working hand in hand with the Downtown Lodi Business Partnership. It makes one wonder what it takes to get a prime location on your first night at the Farmers Market. Is there a seniority or appeal process to gaining favorable a location? I certainly hope so. You can get a hot dog anywhere!

Although your official "business address" is downtown, it seems you really don't go there very often.
By "prime location," I believe that Mr. Clark is refering to the first position on West Oak Street - the "food alley" or whatever designation they call it.
More unfortunate is the location of "A Moveable Feast." A friend pointed out that their position on the upper portion of School Street (near the bounce-house) does not have a menu that faces the street so passers-by do not know what they are offering, there are no seats near their food truck, there are no trash cans near their food truck, and they have items that are not listed on their menu that patrons may be interested in ordering.
All that from one individual and one visit to the Farmers Market.

prime location? The entire thing is 3 blocks long in the heart of downtown... Every both is a prime location...is it not?
