Woodbridge Municipal Advisory Council is in search of excellence

The Woodbridge Municipal Advisory Council is seeking nominations for the Woodbridge Excellence Awards.

The Woodbridge Excellence Award is to provide recognition for outstanding achievements and contributions throughout the community of Woodbridge. The awards program pays tribute to the volunteers or entities that have promoted economic vitality and/or conservation of resources or enhanced the quality of life of the Woodbridge Community.

Public agencies, private entities, nonprofits, service organizations and volunteers residing or doing business in Woodbridge that have demonstrated excellence in the award categories are eligible nominees. The award categories are: Promotion of Economic Vitality, Conservation of Resources, and Enhanced the Quality of Life in Woodbridge.

Written nomination(s) and endorsement(s) must arrive at the WMAC by mail NLT the first week in September or may be turned in to the WMAC secretary at the Sept. 27, 2012 meeting. Winners will be selected and notified by mid-October.

Special instructions apply for youths 18 years old and younger; please indicate if the nominee is 18 or under. Self-nominations are invited.

Awards will be presented at the WMAC on a special meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at the Elks Lodge in Woodbridge.
