I'm a past Lodian. I moved here to Elgin, Ill., to be with my daughter Carole and her children.

I was going through my bookcase looking for something to read when I found this cookbook called "Favorite Recipes from Our Best Cooks," made in 1978-79 in Lodi. It was compiled by Visconette of Bethel Open Bible Church. It is a book of favorite recipes.

I was impressed. I'm writing this letter to you and the cooks of Bethel Open Church to say thank you! That is the best cookbook I've seen in a long time. It is wonderful, different and stimulating. I hope some of them are still around so they will know they are not forgotten.

My favorite is "Chick Bits." It is on the bottom of page 1. The cook was Cheri Buckmiller. There are many different and delicious recipes.

Ladies of Lodi, if you can find this book, buy it and have fun. Good luck. This could be a good money-maker for your church. I love it!
