A tiny kitten died while cuddled in my lap this morning. This is a result of someone taking her and two other kittens away from the mother cat before they could survive on their own.

These 2- to 3-week-old kittens were dropped off at the Lodi Animal Shelter last Monday. Kittens this young are often euthanised (killed) at the shelter. My husband rescued the litter and brought them home, where we have been bottle-feeding them around the clock since then. Two are still alive.

If you have or find a litter of kittens, have enough compassion to place the mother and kittens in a safe place until they can survive on their own. After that, have the mother spayed and the kittens spayed or neutered when they are big enough. Please, everyone, have your pets spayed or neutered!
