As Oliver Hardy often said to Stan Laurel, "What a fine mess you've got us in."

I say to the president, "What a fine mess you've got us in." However, there is a way out of the mess in Iraq, the mess in Afghanistan, the trillion dollar deficit mess, the school children left behind mess, the wire-tapping mess, the Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo mess, the extraordinary renditions outsourcing torture mess, the habeas corpus mess, the congressional scandals mess, the Jack Abramoff/Tom Delay/Bob Ney mess, and all the other messes of this administration.

The way out is a change of direction, a change of foreign policy, a change of congressional leadership with a new speaker. Let the House-cleaning begin at home in the 11th district. Jerry McNerney, a wind energy consultant, understands that the days of fossil fuel and oil dependence are numbered. Alternative sources of energy are in the early days of exploration. McNerney will work with those in congress who envision a clean, pollution free environment for our children's generation and all the generations to come. Science and technology will provide the resources for a healthy environment with clean air, clean water and clean earth. Endangered species will be a footnote in history.

It is time for a change in leadership. It is time to elect someone who will serve the best interests of all the people, all species and mother earth. I urge you to vote for Jerry McNerney.
