You want letters on gay marriage? OK, here's mine. First of all, marriage is a holy institution, one of the seven sacraments given us by the Holy Spirit. Sacraments help us to grow in holiness, build up the Body of Christ and give worship and praise to God.
Matrimony is a sacrament of service. It means that man and woman promise to be faithful to each other for the rest of their lives. The sacrament strengthens their love and unity. In service to each other and their community, they welcome children and create a home of faith, prayer and love.
The sacrament of matrimony should not be taken lightly, as it affects the rest of your life. The first miracle of Jesus was at the wedding in Cana, when he changed the jars of water into fine wine. Wedding celebrations in Jesus' time lasted a week or more. That tells us how important it is.
Homosexuality is not a sin any more than a sickness is a sin. The sin is acting upon it. The Bible, Old and New Testaments, tells us many times that men with men and women with women is an abomination. Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:26-27 say it is against nature, and Jude 7 says not to "lust for strange flesh," and they "dishonor their own bodies."
Read also Genesis 1:27 and 2:24, Ephesians 5:31, Leviticus 18:22, Jeremiah 8:12, Matthew 19:4-6, I Corinthians 6:9-10 and I Timothy 1:8-10.
Remember what happened to Sodom? Greece crumbled because of sinful sexuality. It has caused adultery, divorce, child abuse, etc.
God created men and women to create families. Sin destroys families. God is love and tells us to love one another. That's why intelligent people hate the sin but still love the sinner and try to help them.
California voted to make marriage between one man and one woman. A homosexual judge said it was unconstitutional.
What will the U.S. Supreme Court rule, love or sin?
