Many thanks to the businesses in Downtown Lodi who beautifully decorated their store and restaurant windows during the holidays. You added that special holiday touch that was missing with the lack of lights that should have been provided by the city.
Having traveled to other California cities as well as cities outside California during the holidays, we enjoyed the lovely holiday ambiance those cities provided.
Returning to Downtown Lodi was a bit shocking with its “dark” Downtown. Didn’t anyone tell city officials that Christmas was coming? Why did it seem to us that the “damaged outlets” and lack of operating recessed lights at the base of trees were an afterthought when preparing for the holidays? Actually, this is something that should be maintained regardless of the time of year.
Businesses are doing their part in attracting both residents and tourists alike to Downtown Lodi with great wine tasting rooms, lovely shops and wonderful restaurants, and Visit Lodi! is aggressively promoting Lodi to visitors. Now, perhaps it’s time for the city to raise its standards a bit.
City council, please roll up your shirtsleeves and address this matter.
