Earlier in March, Aretha Franklin was entertaining at the White House and Obama got up to praise her and mentioned her hit single “R-E-S-P-E-C-T,” but after several tries couldn’t spell it and gave up. For a man who has no respect for the American people, this is no surprise.

This is also the man who thinks we have 57 states, believes that raising the debt limit doesn’t add one dollar to the deficit, that there is not a “smidgen” of corruption in the IRS, and the blatantly unconstitutional blanket warrant of the NSA is A-OK with him.

Now we have his new budget that has $1 trillion more in taxes, which is on top of the over $2 trillion more that was unleashed on the private business sector by our unelected and unaccountable bureaucracy on Jan. 1, 2014, with over 3,000 more regulations. Not only is this budget from socialism fantasyland, it breaks a law that was passed just 10 weeks ago — the Ryan-Murray Bill — that put a limit on discretionary spending. Barry’s budget goes over that limit by $56 billion. No problem, says Barry, just pass another bill that will allow this spending to go forward. Laws mean nothing to this president or his party.

As Thomas Sowell put it in his article in the Lodi News-Sentinel on March 6, “Freedom is not free; as long as millions of Americans vote on the basis of who gives them free stuff, look for their freedom — and all our freedom — to be eroded away, bit by bit.”

How do you feel to have voted for this disaster, putting yourselves before the security of the nation and the future of your children and your children’s children so you can have your freebies? Anyone with a conscience should at least have buyer’s remorse. What Thomas Jefferson warned us of so long ago is coming to pass: “Experience hath shown that, even under the best forms of government, those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.”
