Editor: Donald Trump tells NRA: “You have a true friend in the White House.”

Trump, being a radical, knows how to attract and appeal to other radicals.

Past presidential quotes: The 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, said, “To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

The 22th President, Stephen Grover Cleveland, said, “A man is known by the company he keeps, and also by the company from which he keeps out.”

The fourth President, James Madison, said, “the truth is all men having power ought to be mistrusted.”

The 31th President, Herbert Hover, said, “absolute freedom of press to discuss public questions is a foundation stone of liberty.”

The 19th President, Rutherford B. Hays, said, “he serves his party best, who serves his country best.”

There is a lesson here that should be made mandatory reading for president Trump, and future presidents.
