Our nation is faced with continuous international threats, a huge debt, a growing and splintered population, unemployment, endless and costly entitlement programs and a very competitive world. These and other issues are among seven which I consider to be our greatest:
Our lack of jobs; the national debt of $16 trillion (that's 16 followed by 12 zeroes); immigration — including the border fence, any amnesty and deportations, anchor babies, sanctuary cities, and the English-only concerns; our military missions and presence in the Middle East and much of the world; energy — oil drilling, coal, solar wind, nuclear, and a clear environmental focus; taxes — a huge and complex IRS system versus a move toward a national flat tax or a fair (consumption) tax; and the homeless (Who are they? What are their problems? What must they do? What do they need? What must we do?).
Americans must understand these and other issues, and vote for those who are absolutely capable and anxious to take on such vital challenges.
