Some people think Obama is bright, intelligent and an enlightened visionary. He is taking us in a direction that will achieve his dream and vision, which is to transform America into a European-style system.

What does Europe have that we do not? Government-controlled national health care, $8 per gallon gas, an immigration policy where people of Muslim faith have flooded their region, and France embracing Sharia law as acceptable. Europe is sophisticated, modern and enlightened. Obama wants to rid our country of that image of independent thinkers and doers and embrace central government control.

It should come as no surprise that Secretary Chu was selected to shape America's energy policy. Obama's dream is closer to reality then some might think: On March 21, 2011, Secretary Steven Chu said, "... the price of gasoline over the long haul should be expected to go up just because ... we must give up much of what makes our lives American."

In 2008, Steven Chu stated that the United States needed to increase the price of gas to that of Europe — or higher. He stated he personally preferred gas to be around $10 per gallon.

Mr. Chu has called for gradually ramping up gasoline taxes over 15 years to coax consumers into buying more efficient cars and living in neighborhoods closer to work.

When the POTUS is a pathological liar, his "sheep" follow lockstep. Their motto is "tell'em what they want to hear, do what we want to do". Democratic liberal gibberish, as usual.

Gary...my guess is that their plan to bring down gas prices was to make it so expensive, that no one could afford to buy it. Then, as the oil industry faded away, the prices would finally drop say about in the year 2189... long term thinking in action.

"Democrats have a commonsense plan to bring down the skyrocketing gas prices",
    Nancy Pelosi, August 24, 2006.

Well Nancy, it's been over 5 years, where is the Democrat's plan, hidden with Obama's college transcripts???

There really is no such thing as peak oil. The Earth is in a constant state of breaking down things below the surface. Kind of like one big compost box.

Ms Bobin stated...This reply sounds more like Mr. Baumbach doesn't even know what peak oil is, let alone understand it enough to say it is "ancient history

I can understand how it would look that way to you Ms Bobin... Im sure the Stewart show did not address new fracking technologies and horizontal drilling...so of course you would have no way of knowing what I was actually referring to. If you watched CSPAN instead of Stewart, if you looking into Canada's economists who appreciate this technology, you might be up on these things and comprehend what I was talking about. Evidently, it went right over your head, as usual.

HEY BOBBIN, you out shopping for your $45k Chevy Volt built by Government Motors and financed by American taxpayers? Come on now. your pal Obie Wanna Be King is offering a $7500 taxpayer funded rebate if you buy one. I guess he figures if he manages to manipulate gas prices to record heights Volts will sell like hotcakes. Fat chance. Another FIASCO brought to you by the Magic Kindom of the Oval Office.

Mr. Chapman posted, "Mr. Baxter should immediately apologize to all the mentally challenged people." Mr, Chapman, you are absolutely correct. It was irresponsible of me to refer to mentally challenged people as the being on the same level as liberals. They didn't deserve such an insult. And I sincerely apologize to any and all mentally challenged people that I may have insulted by comparing them to liberals.

Ever notice that most of Mr. Baumbach's retorts sound like:

"I'm rubber, your glue - bounces off me and and sticks to you." Childhood was most likely his BETTER days.

What is really pathetic is that Mr. Baxter never has anything EVER of substance to add - his only talent, apparently, is making childish names out of nouns.

Demeaning the mentally challenged people by comparing them to liberals? I agree, it is totally demeaning to mentally challenged citizens by putting them on the same level as liberals. Mr. Baxter should immediately apologize to all the mentally challenged people.

Steve stated...Darrell, you ever hear of the concept of "peak oil"?

Of course Steve... who hasn't. Its ancient history and the debate about it's significance anytime soon is over and done... why would you ask a question that has no relevance Steve...just curious?

A better question to ask Steve would be... are you familiar with the new fracking technologies and horizontal drilling... Canada is impressed and ready to go!
    Unfortunately... Obama is not.

Brian, ever notice when LIBARDS are presented undeniable facts that put Obummer in a bad light, all they do is ignore them and then bring up Bush? Pathetic. Don't they realize Bush isn't the President any more? IF BHO gets re-elected (God help us), in his seventh year and twenty third hour he will still be blaming Bush for everything bad during his tenure as POTUS. AND the poor little libtard sheeple will still believe him.

Ms. Bobin seems to be silent on commenting on the content of Darrell's fact-filled letter either because she agrees with Obama's agreement with Chu that gas should go up this much. Or, she is hard at work trying to refute what Darrell and many many links on google reveal about Chu and what motivated Obama to choose him for energy secretary.

    -Chuckle,

She can't even bring herself to acknowledging he is quite adept at formulating thoughts even though he is at a disadvantage traveling in Thailand. And with Ms. Bobin's seemlingy perfect conditions she is under to formulate her thoughts, she has no excuse for acting the way she acts on a daily basis here.

Mr. Liebich: What makes this administration any different from the previous one? Or many others? The following from "The World Policy Institute" in 2004:

"As the presidential campaign moves into its final days, one industry that has done particularly well during the Bush administration has a strong interest in the outcome: the arms industry. A new report from the World Policy Institute tracks how this critical sector has exerted influence over administration policies, and how it is " voting with its dollars" in the 2004 campaign."

The biggest difference between Bush and Obama is that thousands of our military members were/are not killed or maimed by these political contributions.

Following on the Solyndra controversy, the Department of Energy under President Barack Obama is now accused of funneling billions of dollars in funding to companies that have connections within the department.

An investigation by The Washington Post found that the Energy Department has approved nearly $4 billion in federal grants and financing to 21 companies supported by firms with connections to five Obama administration staffers and advisers.

Of this amount, $2.46 billion flowed to nine businesses that have ties to VantagePoint Venture Partners, a venture capital firm where Sanjay Wagle, an Energy Department adviser, worked before coming to Washington.

The other four officials identified by the Post include Assistant Secretary David Sandalow, who previously worked for Good Energies, a company that received $737 million from the Energy Department; and Steve Westly, a longtime Silicon Valley entrepreneur and now a member of Energy Secretary Steven Chu’s advisory board. The Westly Group took in $600 million in federal financing.

The Obama administration says that the Energy Department employees and advisers took no part in grant-making decisions, which would mean that these business windfalls were just happy coincidences?

It's simple... They have a plan and it must fail or soon we'll pay a tax just to exhale.
