I would like to start by congratulating the Lodi High Football team and coaches for an awesome season so far. These players and coaches have worked very hard this year to get to the playoffs. They are all out there putting everything they have into the sport. They have overcome having to take their team (road warriors) out of town even for home games.

So many times there is much criticism for coaches and I just want to say from a parent's perspective, that these guys are awesome. My son comes home with a great attitude about the game and being around a lot of different sports for many years with my three kids, I think I can say that players will pick up their attitudes from their coaches. I respect the Lodi High Varsity coaches for how they have handled this team. My son has thoroughly enjoyed this season and my family has loved watching the games.

My father, Don Culbertson, was the quarterback for the championship Lodi High teams in 1951-52 and he as well was coached by a great man, John Giannoni. He knows the value of great coaching and he and my son, Cody, spend a lot of time talking about football.

I have seen the blogs on the online paper in the past with lots of negatives and I felt it was time to give these coaches who dedicate so much of their time to football, something positive. Thank you for helping my son to become a better player, keep up the good work.
