Lodi Adopt-a-Child is once again in need of your help for our 21st annual Christmas Wish program. Last year, the community's generous donations helped us give a bit of Christmas to nearly 1,200 children.

Many of our kids feel they are throw-away people with no worth, and no one cares about them. Most of these children live in families that have low incomes. With your help, our Christmas Wish program is a way of showing these children they are not forgotten and there is hope.

Because of the present rotten economy, we are concerned that every child on Santa's list will not receive a gift this Christmas. What a tragedy if that happens. I have no desire to write letters the week before Christmas telling children Santa will not be there this year. That is why I am writing this letter unashamedly asking — maybe I am guilty of begging — for your donation to Lodi Adopt-a-Child. This is not about me, but about kids.

Your tax-deductible donation will help us grant these wishes. Please send your donations to Lodi Adopt-a-Child, P.O. 2479, Lodi, CA 95241.

On behalf of the board of directors and our kids, we wish to thank you for your past support and a blessed Christmas. I know you will find it in your heart to support our efforts on behalf of Lodi's forgotten kids during this Christmas season.
