Police are law enforcers now, not peace officers

Time changes all things — some to the good, some to the bad.

At one time a policeman was a peace officer who also enforced the law, checked on those who were on parole or former criminals, walked his beat and knew young and old. Today, a policeman has become a law enforcer.

Though most don’t know it, people aren’t guaranteed police protection by law. Criminals and law-breakers have no fear because of the court system and those called police who are restricted by the system. Those called victims have fear.

The voters voted that to be a lawyer one had to be a member of the private club known as the State Bar — that not being the state. In 1934, a famous judge stated there was no certainty of the law because of the appeal system. Is it better today?

Those holding political offices desire the support of judges, law, prison workers and the club known as the State Bar. There is no concern for the victims of crimes. Does the tax dollar go to what it’s intended for, or does it go to the General Fund or other projects?

Try to defend yourself for your possessions; you may end up being prosecuted or jailed. Henry Kaiser once said, “There is no excuse for anything.”

I refuse to rely on the police. Enter my house uninvited at your own risk. Threaten my family and you'll pay the price. I'll take my chances with the court before I'll take chances with a criminal.
