On behalf of city of Lodi's GrapeLine and MV Transportation, we want to thank everyone who helped make this year's Stuff the Bus Food Drive a huge success on Nov. 16, 17 and 18. With the community's generosity, the city of Lodi was able to collect 8,236 pounds of food for Salvation Army Lodi Corps — enough to make 6,589 meals!

And because Lodi's Stuff the Bus Food Drive was part of a regional effort, even more food donations were collected. San Joaquin Regional Transit District collected 11,985 pounds, Manteca Transit collected 4,873 pounds, and Escalon eTrans collected 1,298 pounds. Together, the four agencies were able to collect 26,392 pounds of food, providing over 21,100 meals; many of these meals were served during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Our regional success could not have been achieved without the generous donations made by our community members and the hard work of our volunteers, local staff and partners at Food-4-Less, Cumulus Broadcasting (including live broadcasts from KWIN) and Lodi News-Sentinel.

Special recognition should be given to the many students from Lodi, Tokay, McNair and Jim Elliot Christian high schools for their energetic participation.

City of Lodi GrapeLine and MV Transportation staff appreciate our community's support through the annual Stuff the Bus food drive. By working together, we were able to assist residents in need this holiday season.

Thank you.
