Once again our family has been blessed by the coaches at Vineyard Christian Middle School. Our soccer coaches were Dave Kazmierczak and John Vernon. Tom Gotelli, along with Les Dunning and Glenn Clarke, led the basketball team, and Rich Longmire is now coaching softball.

We have had nothing but truly wonderful experiences with all of these men. They are men of integrity and discipline. All the children knew that they were valued as individuals and as part of the team. These coaches taught our children the importance of sportsmanship. They focused on playing as a team and encouraging each other. The kids knew that winning was great, but playing fairly and doing their best was more important.

It is wonderful to know that we have men of this caliber in our community who are willing to give of their time and talents. Thanks your for your dedication to our children.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
