Letter: President Obama lied about the Affordable Care Act

Don’t worry, if you like your doctor, you can keep him. If you like your present insurance plan, you can keep it. No problem.

As you know, these are words of our president. These were just the first two lies that Obama told on TV when he attempted to tell us what Obamacare was all about. Needless to say, Obama didn’t have a clue and still doesn’t.

The point of this letter is that we have a president who is a liar and he doesn’t even try to cover it up. The Democrats feel that anything goes as long as it furthers their agenda. How can our friends and allies — or should I say ex-friends and allies? — have enough respect to try to deal with him?

It is quite apparent that we are no longer the country that was looked up to by the world. This has happened in the last four years and we know why!

I see that he has recruited the second-best liar in the Democratic Party to help him work the American people as to the benefits of Obamacare. Bill Clinton, now there’s someone to draw to. One lies and the other one swears to it and the American people believe it. Both will say anything necessary to accomplish their agenda.

Everything that goes wrong is, according to Obama, a glitch. The only real glitch in the whole program is complete lack of planning and the horrendous lies that are being propagated by Obama.

It is obvious that Obama accepts any kind of job from the people he has hired to run our government for him. These people apparently are held to no quality of work. They are not held accountable for anything. He absolutely has no clue as to what it takes to run this country — or a hot dog stand, for that matter. This guy is a flop.

Obama has the audacity to say that they are so busy with people applying that they can’t control the overload. Another Obama lie!

Ninety-nine percent of failure comes from people who make excuses. I can’t ever remember our president taking responsibility for anything except how he took care of bin Laden.

Andrew, Thanks. I thought so. So they are all dead, and they cannot answer any questions about having allegedly killed OBL.

    FACT:
The White House claimed that Bin Laden’s death on May 1st was proven by DNA and facial recognition evidence, such proof was never released for public scrutiny and the Obama administration refused to release photos of Bin Laden’s dead body.

    FACT:
The "compound in Abbottabad" fairytale is far from factual and based solely on the less than credible word of the U.S. government.

I do not think you are a liar but I do think you do not reside in the same universe as most folks.

Calling someone out as a “liar” isn’t necessarily name-calling - so long as there’s truth behind the allegation. I’ve been called all manner of names from those on the opposite side of the ideological debate ranging from racist, homophobic, mean-spirited, liar, etc. on this very forum. Of course there’s been nothing set forth to support these claims over the years, but mostly I’ve left it alone because on an Op/Ed page of any newspaper such accusations could very well be just a low-level matter of opinion.

Here, as far as this use of the word “liar” in reference to the president’s promises back when the health-care issue was being debated prior to becoming law that if we (individual Americans) wanted to keep our policies and/or doctors, we would be permitted to do so, it’s been revealed that those assurances simply weren’t backed by any amount of truth. And it’s not just Conservatives/Republicans who believe that President Barack Hussein Obama purposely lied about this point in order to sell his bill; no, no, no – there have been many Democrats, talk-show moderators and even the press (imagine that!!) who now believe him to be untruthful. His popularity has suffered greatly because of this one item.

Mr. Obama even provided a back-handed apology although I’ll never accepted it as such nor was it an admission of guilt. I’m waiting for just one president with that kind of courage to come forth with genuine remorse for misleading the American people. As I grow older and my body deteriorates quicker than I would like, I doubt I’ll ever witness such an amazing feat of integrity. It’s as if such a character trait is claimed to exist prior to the election, but after taking office it mysteriously disappears.
All of this is so very sad (that would be “pathetic”).

    Daniel,
    I do not.

    Ms. Bobin,
Congress is actually launching an official investigation into the mysterious helicopter crash that killed several members of the Navy SEAL team 6 in Afghanistan in August 6, 2011.

Pretending this event never took place is absolutely ridiculous.

Attempting to educate and inform you when you clearly don't care to be educated and informed is futile from my perspective but here are a few facts Ms. Bobin.

According to Dan Rather and CBS Bin Laden was hospitalized for dialysis treatment in the Pakistani military hospital in Rawalpindi. The CBS story aired January 28, 2002. Here is a link.

Salon.com first reported Bin Laden had marfan syndrome on November 9, 2001.

    http://www.salon.com/2001/11/09/marfan/ [sleeping]

and ABC reported the same on May 4, 2001.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Health/osama-bin-laden-top-health-rumors/story?id=13518880 [sleeping]

as well as NBC May 11, 2001.

WE interviewed Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik, a man who held numerous different influential positions under three different Presidents and still works with the Defense Department on May 4, 2001.

Pieczenik cannot be dismissed as a “conspiracy theorist” Ms.Bobin.

He served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State under three different administrations, Nixon, Ford and Carter, while also working under Reagan and Bush senior, and still works as a consultant for the Department of Defense. A former US Navy Captain, Pieczenik achieved two prestigious Harry C. Solomon Awards at the Harvard Medical School as he simultaneously completed a PhD at MIT.

Pieczenik said that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001, “Not because special forces had killed him, but because as a physician I had known that the CIA physicians had treated him and it was on the intelligence roster that he had marfan syndrome.”
    [sleeping]

Pieczenik’s assertion that Bin Laden died almost ten years ago is echoed by numerous intelligence professionals as well as heads of state across the world.
    [sleeping]
    These include;

    - Former CIA officer and hugely respected intelligence & foreign policy expert Robert Baer, who in 2008 when asked about Bin Laden by a radio host responded, “Of course he is dead.”

    - On December 26, 2001, Fox News, citing a Pakistan Observer story, reported that the Afghan Taliban had pronounced Bin Laden dead and buried him in an unmarked grave.

-On January 18, 2002, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf announced: “I think now, frankly, he is dead.”

    - On July 17, 2002, the then-head of counterterrorism at the FBI, Dale Watson, told a conference of law enforcement officials that “I personally think he [Bin Laden] is probably not with us anymore.”

    - In October 2002, Afghan President Hamid Karzai told CNN that “I would come to believe that [Bin Laden] probably is dead.

    - In 2003, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright told Fox News Channel analyst Morton Kondracke she suspected Bush knew the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden and was waiting for the most politically expedient moment to announce his capture.

    - In November 2005, Senator Harry Reid revealed that he was told Osama may have died in the Pakistani earthquake of October that year.

    - In February 2007, Professor Bruce Lawrence, head of Duke University’s Religious Studies program, stated that the purported video and audio tapes that were being released of Bin Laden were fake and that he was probably dead.

    - On November 2, 2007, former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto told Al-Jazeera’s David Frost that Omar Sheikh had killed Osama Bin Laden.

    - In March 2009, former US foreign intelligence officer and professor of international relations at Boston University Angelo Codevilla stated: “All the evidence suggests Elvis Presley is more alive today than Osama Bin Laden.”

    - In May 2009, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari confirmed that his “counterparts in the American intelligence agencies” hadn’t heard anything from Bin Laden in seven years and confirmed “I don’t think he’s alive.”

If you want to believe Bin Laden outwitted the National Security Agency, the CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the FBI, 16 US intelligence agencies, all intelligence agencies of Washington’s NATO puppet states, Israel’s Mossad, and the National Security Council, NORAD, US air traffic control, and airport security four times on the same morning you go right ahead.

Andrew: Next question is if you obtained factual reports, or if this was just one more time that he was one of the first times that he was reported dead, amongst a long list of reported deaths.

so I have to ask which death report was the factual one.

    Yes, really.

I disagree. My gut feeling is that they are dead.
    No.

    How about "liar?"

I know you do not consider that name-calling in Obama's case, but if someone called YOU that, you would be crying about name-calling.

Can't have it both ways. Name-calling is name-calling no matter how you try to spin it.

Since JFK - because you think HE didn't lie? Or is that the first president within your memory? I didn't think you were that old.

Every president lies. If they didn't, there would be no national secrets and no need for security clearances of various levels.

One of the biggest liars, caught red handed, was Ronald Reagan with the Iran-Contra scandal. Only thing is, since he had dementia and early Alzheimers and couldn't remember anything, he was able to get away with his lies.

So Andrew - your first comment says he died from Marfan Syndrome in JULY 2001 - a "fact" reported by InfoWars schlock jock Alex Jones.

Now you state that CBS found him or found evidence that he was in Pakistan having dialysis on 9/10/2001.

Why was CBS looking for him coincidentally the day BEFORE the 9/11 attacks?

So far, your "factual" reports are convoluted. And, this means that ALL of the OBL videos released by al Qaeda in which OBL makes references to current events - and verified by the CIA are fakes, AND all of the Navy Seals involved in the raid are liars.

I'd write more but I have to run out to the store and get some heavy duty tin foil before it's all sold out.

    Really, Daniel?

You are asking Andrew Liebich to give you factual information?

Of course they are all still alive - one even wrote a book.

Did you think Obama had them executed so they wouldn't talk, or what?

Andrew, Do you know if any members of the Navy Seal team who are alleged to have killed OBL are still alive?

Joanne, can you name one single president since JFK that you can identify with a well-informed opinion that they did not lie to the American people?

Joanne: Yes, and what are you saying is the problem? OBL loved to issue videos, but he didn't issue a video celebrating 9/11. Dead people don't make videos. If he died during the Obama administration, then why did they not produce a corpse?

Osama died so many times according to news reports that I didn't care to sort through the mess anymore. I am both surprised and impressed that Andrew has taken the time to sort through the mess to come to a conclusion. Myself, I thought he had a kidney problem and that he was tethered to a dialysis machine. For Andrew, I wonder where he got that from, and I'd like to verify that, but one thing I absolutely refuse to believe is that he was killed by a navy seal team in Pakistan. Nope. No way.

CBS news reported Osama bin Laden was hospitalized for dialysis treatment in the Pakistani military hospital in Rawalpindi on September 10, 2001.

    Couldn't find him? Huh?

Marfan syndrome is a degenerative genetic disease for which there is no permanent cure. The illness severely shortens the life span of the sufferer.
A man suffering from Marfan syndrome did not survive for another decade to be murdered by a US Navy SEAL team in Abbottabad.

So you are saying that GW Bush lied to us. Dick Cheney lied to us. Donald Rumsfeld lied to us. And the entire US Military lied to us regarding bin Laden.

They lied and said they couldn't find him, but they (and all of the other conspiracy theorists in the world) knew he was already dead -

Ironically, according to Mr. Liebich (who, ironically, is, what SF Chronicle columnist Herb Caen used to call a "name freak) bin Laden was ALREADY DEAD even before the 9/11 attacks.

Yes, we are continually lied to by our current president.

p.s. Bin Laden died of marfan syndrome shortly after he visited the American Hospital in Dubai in July 2001.

Another right wing over the top name calling letter from one of our leading Conservative friends. I notice there was not one sentence about health policy or how we can do health care better in this country. Typical. This is what modern day Conservatism is all about. It is much easier to call people names with crazy hyperbole that actually come up with solutions to the many problems our country faces. This is the face of the modern day Conservative Republican party. It is why they have no power in California and this will spread to most of the country except for the deep south. Republicanism and Conservatism are dying and the reason is written in this letter by Mr. West.
