Profanity does not belong on the golf course

I watched the last round of the Bay Classic on March 25, and I am appalled at the language Tiger Woods displayed at one of the holes.

He hit a bad tee shot and he used God's name in vain, then that ball landed right by a tree and another 4-letter word profanity was to be heard — I am sure worldwide.

Now isn't about time for the Northern California Golf Association to put a stop to this by fining those players for using profanity or throwing clubs, etc.? They could give the money to charity. This is done in every other sport.

I agree. I am appalled at the words that came out if his mouth. I would have never expected something so vulgar coming from someone who is such a wonderful committed husband and father. Oh, he cheated and got into a physical fight when he was confronted? I guess he isn't a saint to put up on a pedestal. No shock and awe here.

A few years back I was golfing with my parents and there was a group close to use use LOUD vulgarities golfing. It was to the point we finally flagged down a course official and the group was asked to leave. Apparently there were other complaints as well.

While it is a frustrating sport, take it out in your swing, not in your language.

That said, this letter certainly does make Mr Viall's priorities clear. If only he loved his country as much as he loves his party.
