Editor: With Lodi now seemingly flooded with a homeless population approaching, if not surpassing that of Stockton, if not Sacramento, the solutions to this problem seem, to me at least, to be to just keep throwing money at the problem and hope for the best.

While I firmly believe that all among us deserve humane and compassionate treatment, the fact remains that for the overwhelming, non-homeless population, things that are worked for and earned are much more valued.

If Lodi really wants to make a dent in, if not, eliminate its homeless problem, I would recommend a tough love approach. If you keep feeding and offering various services for free, there is little reason for the homeless to change their ways.

To become homeless, a person must have burned every imaginable bridge they ever had, and then continued to make horrible decisions. It is my humble opinion that Lodi should stop offering taxpayer-funded services to them and let the liberal Democrats in Sacramento deal with it. Let them move in with Jerry Brown, Kevin DeLeon and Darrel Steinberg.

I am sick of hearing from the idiots in Sacramento that hard-working, God-fearing, tax-paying Americans like me are the real problem.
