WOW! What a community we live in and what a way to end 2013. Once again, this year the LOEL Center’s Senior “WISH” Christmas tree received overwhelming support from our community. Seniors made a wish for Christmas and hung it on the tree. There were wishes from new jackets to new robes and slippers, for groceries or just a dinner out, and even help with their utility bills and Dial-A-Ride passes.

You, this community, filled those wishes! Thanks to the compassion of our local businesses and community, those wishes were filled. It was the community that filled over 70 senior wishes!

Each and every one of you knows who you are and we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for helping make our seniors feel the true “Christmas Spirit!” The day Santa came to LOEL and presented the seniors at lunch with their granted wishes was a heartwarming sight to see, and we really appreciate the generosity and holiday cheer from all that contributed!

A special thank you to the best Santa and his elf team — Dennis Calton, Marj, Liz, Dee and Spencer, who handed out each special gift!

On behalf of the LOEL seniors, staff and board of directors, thank you Lodi community! We wish you and yours all the best in 2014, and look forward to another wonderful year!
