Why hasn't Galt High School or the Lodi News-Sentinel compared the current issue that is going on at Liberty Ranch to the issues that went on when Jim Aschwanden, Don Siegalkop, Ann Ullrich, Lori Huerer and Bill LaPlante were running the district?

Remember, they ran out of money because they couldn't add correctly? Remember the gym that sat unfinished for nearly a year?

They had to cram in the front entry way, locker rooms and wrestling room, change the exterior to block and fake bricks instead of real bricks all the way around, put in cheap hardwood floors and stands, and cut back on the paint and a bunch of other stuff.

Oh yeah, they put in an elevator that wasn't approve by the State Architecture and that the EMTs can't use because it isn't safe! Remember?

Aren't these the same people who are now sitting in the audience at board meetings?

When the ag building subject comes up, they yell and decry Kathleen Amos for having some common sense and prudence about what should be done. Dennis Richardson agrees with her.

Reminds me of when Sue Roberts and Pat Maple (Pat's the one they yelled at back then) were saying and doing the same things. Sue was the calm one. Of course anyone who could stand in front of a high school classroom and teaches kids business for 30 years did have some experience in crowd control! So, I ask again, why are we going through this again? Answer: Same scenario, same people (most), same decisions, and same results.

The internet blogs and Simon Cowell and his ilk have brought forth an ugliness nowadays.Recall one of Rockwell's 'Freedom" paintings; a young man, blue collar worker, is at a town meeting speaking; his hands nervously clasp the meeting agenda handout, and his eyes are fixed straight ahead as he makes his point. Around him the faces show agreement, disagreement, bemusement, and pride. But all the other mouths are shut and no one is yelling. The Civility of the Right to Assemble, and Speak Freely has been supplanted now by the anonymous voice in the dark of the talent show auditorium shouting "you stink!"

That one is to answer. Stupidity is rampant in Galt, too.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
