How nice it is to see the new bench installed and people going about keeping Lodi cleaned up. However, until the U.S. post office does something about painting their building, cleaning up their walkways and improving their flower beds, Downtown will continue to look dirty and neglected.

I’m sure I’m not the only person who has had these thoughts.

Abysmal service? Do you not receive your mail rain, hot sun, or winter cold and on time? You should witness mail service other places before you say abysmal in the United States. What else can you buy for 43 cents that gets a piece of paper from one side of country to next?

Considering the consistent financial losses enjoyed by the USPS and their abysmal service (they actually look like they're working in slow motion), I think the best solution for our Post Office would be to sell it to Starbucks or Taco Bell.

With Islamic militants taking over the middle east, a congress at does nothing and a national debt that increases $2.36 billion per day , it is truly refreshing to find someone whose main concern is the paint on the local post office. I think your message is spot on. If we concentrate on improving things in our community that we see everyday, and have some control over, we will be happier, worry less and have a better quality of life.
