WOW! What a community we live in and what a way to end 2009. Over the past few months the LOEL Center and seniors are very lucky to be part of such a wonderful caring and giving community!

Once again, this year the LOEL Center's Senior "WISH" Christmas tree received overwhelming support from our community (from Girl Scout Troops 2028/279/93, Dr. Bader's Office, Lodi MRI, Lodi City Mid-Managers Association, Omega Nu and many community individuals and families to seniors themselves).

Seniors made wishes for Christmas and hung them on the tree — wishes for new shoes, to space heaters, to new robes and slippers, for groceries or just a dinner out and even help with their utility bills and Dial-A-Ride passes.

It was the community that filled more than 120 seniors' wishes! Each and every one of you knows who you are, and we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for helping make our seniors feel the true "Christmas Spirit"!

I really wish you could have seen their faces when they received their gifts. It's really hard to put into words how each one of them felt, but you could tell by looking at the smiles on their faces and excitement in their eyes — that was worth millions!

A special thank you to the best Santa and his elf team — Dennis and Cheryl Calton, Griffin Schrenk, Suzy, Kim, Terry and Marj who handed out each special gift!

On behalf of the LOEL seniors, staff and Board of Directors, THANK YOU, Lodi Community! We wish you and yours all the best in 2010 and look forward to another wonderful year!

Ms Kaur Good observation. Thanks. It would go along ways to explaining the irrational angry, hateful rhetoric common to that group.
