I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank Steve Dutra of the Parks and Recreation Department and Tree Lodi for the overwhelming turnout on Saturday at DeBenedetti Park. It was encouraging to see so many members of the community come together.

I sincerely appreciate all of the hard work and efforts of the many individuals involved in planning, building and supporting DeBenedetti Park.

I look forward to its completion and opening.

I'm looking forward to the park opening too. I live in the area and right now if I want to play catch with my kids, since Larson Elm. will only allow groups in it's grass who have money, I have to either go into the street and risk an errant throw hitting a neighbor's car or go down to the dog park where any throw that hits the ground can come up with dog feces all over it. It will be nice to be able to have a usable grass area to play with the kids.

Any one have an idea when it will be open for use?
