I’ve been hesitant to write about the terrorists’ swap and the return of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. But then I heard Secretary of State John Kerry’s response on CNN when he was asked about the ability of these five top generals of the Taliban to return to the field and kill Americans again. He replied, “They also have the ability to be killed.”
How many of our young men and women will have to pay the ultimate price to complete that “ability,” Secretary Kerry? For that matter, how many died and were maimed to have these subhuman vermin put into hotel Gitmo? The arrogance and stupidity of this administration makes the Carter presidency look positively brilliant.
It’s too early to really comment on Bergdahl himself, except to say this administration tried two other times to do this swap and both parties gave Obama a resounding NO because of Bergdahl’s questionable capture. What isn’t in question is that these were the five most dangerous terrorists at Gitmo. Two of them are wanted by the U.N. for crimes against humanity in the killing of thousands of Sunni men, women and children because they just weren’t Muslim enough, and one had ties to 9/11.
To let these vermin go back onto the battlefield when we still have thousands of troops in theatre is at least dereliction of duty by our commander-in-chief. And at worst, giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war which could be considered treason. Not to mention this legitimizes these terrorists and gives them more reason to kidnap more people to exchange for captured terrorists.
Any of our youths who may be killed as a direct result of this release will be on Obama’s hands. Of course, he will say that he will not rest in his efforts to not allow this to happen — yada, yada, yada.
