Letter: Obama derelict in duty as commander-in-chief

I’ve been hesitant to write about the terrorists’ swap and the return of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. But then I heard Secretary of State John Kerry’s response on CNN when he was asked about the ability of these five top generals of the Taliban to return to the field and kill Americans again. He replied, “They also have the ability to be killed.”

How many of our young men and women will have to pay the ultimate price to complete that “ability,” Secretary Kerry? For that matter, how many died and were maimed to have these subhuman vermin put into hotel Gitmo? The arrogance and stupidity of this administration makes the Carter presidency look positively brilliant.

It’s too early to really comment on Bergdahl himself, except to say this administration tried two other times to do this swap and both parties gave Obama a resounding NO because of Bergdahl’s questionable capture. What isn’t in question is that these were the five most dangerous terrorists at Gitmo. Two of them are wanted by the U.N. for crimes against humanity in the killing of thousands of Sunni men, women and children because they just weren’t Muslim enough, and one had ties to 9/11.

To let these vermin go back onto the battlefield when we still have thousands of troops in theatre is at least dereliction of duty by our commander-in-chief. And at worst, giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war which could be considered treason. Not to mention this legitimizes these terrorists and gives them more reason to kidnap more people to exchange for captured terrorists.

Any of our youths who may be killed as a direct result of this release will be on Obama’s hands. Of course, he will say that he will not rest in his efforts to not allow this to happen — yada, yada, yada.

Frankly Andrew I don't understand any of it nor do I wish to research it. If you want me to know something tell me.

Have you ever heard of quoting things out of context?
Have you ever heard of circumstantial evidence?
Have you ever heard the term "swift- boating"?
After all we use to burn ladies at the stake on hearsay they were witches even though witches never really existed.
Your rush to judgement is not validated. Doesn't say it couldn't be true just not verifiably proven. We need a little more from the houses mouth so to speak.
BTW, Bergdahl has pleaded not guilty.

And it is easy to criticize people in the military when you've NEVER been in it yourself - nor ever dream to join.

How could he when he doesn't trust ANYONE designated as Commander in Chief - and I'm being generous as to that reason. Saying the truth would make my post un-postable, no doubt.

Yes, Mr. Heuer - if we are going to round up critics of the government, we need look no further than these threads. Funny, the man who gripes the most about people committing treason has committed it repeatedly here.

What Liebich doesn't seem to think WE know is that ANYONE can create a "youtube" video that says just about anything, but he want US to believe all that nonsense.

There you go again. There is little in this video but hearsay. It is showing video images while a narrator in the background is telling you what you SHOULD be believing. Bergdahl left his post and asked "which way to the Taliban" according to ?witnesses? the narrator tells you. What evidence is there? Give me testimony from the witnesses and assure me they aren't paid for. And the same goes for other "narrator" statements. Can we hear from Bergdahl first before we rush to manufacture stories that fit with various people trying to promote their favorite partisan fantasy.

If anybody speaks against their country are they traitors? I might agree so lets start rounding up the Tea Party members who regularly speak against their country its government and their president.

    1. That fact was presented somewhere here?
    2. If so can you prove it was digestible?

It's not too early to comment on Bergdahl himself Ron.

Each and every time you are presented with a fact you fail quite miserably to digest it.[lol]

FACT: President Obama clearly violated Section 1028 of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act.

    Ron said two things
"I’ve been hesitant to write about the terrorists’ swap and the return of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl."

"It’s too early to really comment on Bergdahl himself,..."

So what are we doing here.

...several time in the past, or had not held up their end of the previously negotiated deal?

Answer: Because that would have made your accusations against the president meaningless.

Why is it that people who do not like President Obama must continually offer up misinformation and fabricated statements to make their case for hating the man?

You would get more respect if you stuck to the facts.

You have heard of DRONES, right, Mr. Portal?

You should have "hesitated" a lot longer until you actually had some factual information to share.

Why did you NOT include information that the Taliban had cut-off negotiations several time in t

I guess that's fair Ron as long as the 4500 US servicemen deaths as well as the 150,000 Iraqi killed (many civilians) or on Bush's hands.
