I am sending this note to thank the Lodi News-Sentinel for recognizing the two young students by presenting each with an award for their honorable actions.

Young Cheo Tessaro and Ashley Thompson, my daughter, were selected. Congratulations again to Cheo for the heroic act of saving the child from drowning in the pool.

We are very happy and proud of Ashley being recognized for the many volunteer things she does as a daily routine. Thanks, to Jeannette Johnson, a friend of our family who surprised everyone when she submitted Ashley's name. She was aware of Ashley's community volunteer service with The Galt Beautification Committee and having just received the first youth award from the city.

I want to thank Glory Hudson, Yee Wong, Pam Bauserman and Editor Richard Hanner. The music was fantastic - a very memorable day for Ashley and her family.
