On Feb. 27, the Lodi News-Sentinel printed a column by a retired city attorney. In her concluding paragraph, she bemoaned the fact that the right wing of the Republican Party is working to cause Obama to fail in the implementation of many of his policies.

Yes, if our USA is to remain a great, free nation — proud and prosperous, powerful and philanthropic — then Obama must fail in his efforts to weaken our military, weaken our national security, weaken our war against Islamo-fascism, weaken our culture, weaken the traditional family, divide our people economically and racially, weaken and circumvent our Constitution, weaken our borders and weaken our national prestige.

The individuals working for Obama’s failure are heroes and patriots, hoping to save our USA.

David Browda refers to the individuals working for Obama’s failure as "heroes and patriots." A true statement.

President Pinnocchio's administration refers to the same individuals as "domestic terrorists." A lie.

Mr. Kinderman, if the republican party continues to let the sinking tea baggers, whose approval rating is now near 10%, the spinners like Paul, Romney and Rubio continue to speak for the party, the republicans may lose control of the house, too.

Perhaps you are confused DB - there is a difference between political and social conservatism.

You fail to make that distinction with your "Amish" question, of course.

Thanks for the clarification,Joanne; I was under the impression that the Amish people were the "extreme right". Now i have to assume that if one is moderate or slightly conservative, then he fits the stereotype of a "rightwinger". Now, what is a" leftwinger"? Just asking. I say this in jest of course.

This is the same crank who tried to make a big stink over the mosaic tile with the "terrorist symbol" on it and even with CC member Mounce's support couldn't find anyone who was of his thinking. Same crank who claimed that the Lodi Parachute Center was training Islamic terrorists from Qater.

Funny how right wingers cannot make up their minds about Obama and Islamic terrorists. One minute ripping a new one for using drones to take them out, the next claiming Obama is "weakening the war against Islamo-facists."

Finally, this letter is nothing more than a bunch of grandstanding buzzwords used for the sole purpose of inflaming readers while providing absolutely NO substantiation for any of it.

"Heroes and patriots?" These bums should be kicked out of Congress for their obstructionism. Even poor Rand Paul tried to save face after his sillly filibuster effort by ending it with a "potty" joke. Shows EXACTLY the mentality and level of maturity of this group.

This letter....garbage...but what else can be expected of the extreme right?

I think you are missing it Jerome. The Chief Justice upheld Obamacare for one reason: States rights. Read it; understand it

I'm sorry Mr. Browda, but with Barack Hussein Obama's victory last November along with a Democrat majority in the Senate and a Supreme Court that gets ever closer to a liberal majority, I'm afraid we're in for Obama's policies to "reign" over us for a long time to come.

In spite of all the back-room chicanery and character challenged wheeling and dealing it took to get "ObamaCare" the law of the land, what was considered a sure-fire reversal by the Supreme Court was derailed by the Chief Justice himself. While the bill was considered by many of us to be unconstitutional and fraught with peril, with Roberts' action and Obama's re-election it's clear now that whatever this president wants, he's going to get.

The only thing that will save us will be the mid-term election of 2014; but more than that the election will rely upon the American people finally waking up to what is going on and having them (us) stopping him with wins in both the House and the Senate. Sadly though I realize our chances are slim.

We've already witnessed the first step toward amnesty for virtually all illegal aliens currently residing in the United States. Using this nonsensical Sequestration issue as an excuse, the jail-house doors were opened and many of these criminals were permitted to simply walk through and are now back in American communities. And virtually no one says a word in Congress. There's nothing that can be done.

We are in very big trouble when the rule of law is ignored - and even more sadly and very frighteningly is that it WILL get much worse before it even begins to get better.

You might ask “why.” Mr. Browda? The answer is simple sir - we've become a nation who simply don't care.
