Spend city money on programs being used
The article last week about the Bear Creek High principal and the student newspaper has been on my mind for a week. I have strained to imagine the school's young adults, some of whom probably voted for president, overcome by panic. Clearly an intellect such as that is under-utilized at the school and should be promoted to upper management.
Also, if I have read the article correctly, very few people will pay to use the Blakley Park pool. I would think the pool's expenses will continue, even though it is not popular. On the other hand, Camp Hutchins preschool is going to close because the city needs to start charging rent to cover its expenses.
I grant this seems an oversimplification. Would it be wise to take the money from an unappreciated pool and use it to offset some of the expenses of the camp? Put the money where the people are.

It's obvious, from that first paragraph, this person is a professional speech writer for several politicians.

Just exactly WHAT is this woman talking about in her first paragraph? I'm stumped.
