We should all be crying for America
The election is over and, as expected, very little of what I voted for came to pass. As a Christian, I'm used to going against most popular fads and trends, so I wasn't too surprised at the outcome of the election.
I can't figure out how other "Christians" could vote for a person and party who's so openly against the Bible and God. They removed God from their beliefs and only put Him back at the convention to avoid a backlash — over the objections of the delegates. They want abortions at any time, and they say that if Jesus was here today He would have changed with the time. He would be OK with same-sex marriage. If anybody wants to question that, Obama said that very thing on national TV during an interview.
I don't understand why people voted for a tax increase when Gov. Brown threatened to cut the essentials like education, public safety and services. He has a history of money mismanagement, waste and wants to spend countless billions of our tax dollars on a railroad to nowhere and a canal to take water to Southern California — which will probably destroy the Delta as we know it.
I can't figure out how anybody with children could vote for people who want to tax and spend and borrow our way out of debt. Past history has shown that it will not work. How can they look into their children's and grandchildren's eyes and say, "Look what we've done to your future"?
I can't understand how anyone who loves their country could vote for someone who puts our America down, is ashamed to wear an American flag on his lapel and espouses a socialist style of government.
There is a saying that if you didn't vote, you can't complain. Well, I voted and I'm going to be complaining. I have no reason to believe that the direction of our nation will change. It will continue to be downhill. I came out to the living room the morning after the election and my wife was watching the results on TV and crying.
I think we all should be crying for America. I guess this also means I'm not going to get my Monday News-Sentinel.

Mr. Sugden can spend his days bawlin' and wonderin', the rest of us will move on. We have a very difficult time ahead as President Obama has much to accomplish in the next 4 years.
As to why his wife was crying, it's anyone's guess. Maybe she came to the realization that not everyone likes the republican party and that the future is already being foretold as the GOP continues it's move right. Maybe she realized that Fox and Rush and Hannity and all the other oddballs were just spouting propoganda and that Romney never really had a chance.
The right's continued reliance on lies such as the fake war on women, the fake anti immigration accusations, the fake Romney did pay any taxes until 2 or 3 years ago, etc. clearly did not effect the majority of registered voters, than God. I'm afraid she's in for a lot more tears unless the right straighten's up itself. Complaining bitterly about "moderate" republicans is only going to lead to reduced support in the future. For those of us on the left side of this year's election spectacular, we really fear is the tea party's increased presence within the GOP. We would love to see three parties: the Democrats, the republicans and the tea party. Lock in those damn liberal presidents for the next 60 years.

No Romney lost so will never have an opportunity to deliver on his gift giving to the filthy rich. However wasn't that a wonderful stimulus package all the conservative super pac donations contributed to our economy. Yea free money for the people.

curious...what in the world does a Karl Rove have to do with anything... or is he another one of those old white guys you spew your angry rants at...
bizarre bigotry displayed by Mr Chang

Coming from an intolerant man who displays bigotry, your post is rather meaningless.
Darrell Baumbach posted at 8:07 pm on Wed, Nov 21, 2012.
Mr Heller, your post has nothing to do with or related to Mr Sugden's points in his letter... I thought your post was words of wisdom and interesting, but inappropriate.

Mr. Sugden, I too am a Christian Republican. I believe our government should NOT dictate our religious beliefs. I suggest you be true to your beliefs and not try to tell others how to act .
If you do not believe in gay marriage... don't have one.
If your do not believe in abortions ... don't have one.
Don't like premarital sex ... don't have it.
Don't like drugs .... don't do them.
Don't like cigarettes ... don't smoke.
Don't like alcohol ... don't drink.
Don't like guns ... don't buy one.
Don't like your rights taken away from you ...
then quit condemning, quit judging and quit trying to take away other's rights.
We are the United States of America... multiple religions and many beliefs.

-Chuckle,
If we were to follow Ms. Bobin's logic we would have to conclude Romney did not give gifts to special interest groups either in order to have a better chance to win.

More Archconservative/Retrogressive Koolaid anyone??
Darrell's perceptions and reality never meet.
Consumer confidence? Market up or down? California Budget projections?
In Darrell's universe, only opinions matter.
Mostly, his opinions.
But rumor has it, Karl Rove's ramblings are frequently considered "sacred text".
"How absurd to consider facts as evidence of anything?"
You get the idea...

Folks, don't drink the Archconservative/Retrogressive Koolaid.
Warning, contains brine solution 99% by volume. Active ingredient: Karl Rove extract.

Good column from Paul Begala in this week's Newsweek: "Denialists, Whiners, and Wackjobs - There is more than one way to be a Republican"
http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2012/11/18/begala-more-than-one-way-to-be-a-republican.html
Begala concludes, referencing Willard Mitt Romney's pathetic claim to donors that Obama won because of the "gifts he gave to special interest groups:
"The real "gift" of 2012 is that, in the toughest economy of our lifetime, the American people had the good sense to turn away from a party that holds them in such contempt."

Don’t worry so much Jim the economy continues to grow. The housing market is rebounding, unemployment continues to fall, the stock market is up, and consumer confidence is up and increasing. California Government Budget Office reported that California’s deficient is expected to be 1 billion this year down from 45 billion under Aaaanold and predicts that California will have a 1 billion dollar surplus in 2014 and a 9 billion dollar surplus by 2017. I would think, due to the fact that the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops declared the Ryan Budget Plan as immoral, Christians would be relieved that Romney was defeated.

This (letter) is what happens when ill-informed people watch/read propaganda and cannot distinguish between reality and the trash they are being fed.

Letter stated...I can't understand how anyone who loves their country could vote for someone who puts our America down, is ashamed to wear an American flag on his lapel and espouses a socialist style of government.
That is easy to understand... liberalism ... mass distortion of facts such as the fake war on women, the fake anti immigration accusations, the fake Romney did not pay his taxes, the fake Romney story that persuaded liberals that Republicans wanted to throw grandma over the cliff.
..all one do is read George Orwell's book "1984" to see how masses of people can be trained to believe big brother (government)is there to help you. Obama is very comforting to many no matter what religion because liberals "perceive" he has their best interests at heart... and if you look at the Dream Act as an example, which provides benefits to the people who voted for him, it is perceived he cares. How sweet and Orwellian?
