Mr. Leno of San Francisco and Mr. Sanburg, President pro-tem of the State Senate, and some others are trying to take the vote of the people and override their decision on gay marriage. Talk about gall. They would reject the voters' choice and will make that a legislative decision.

I would like to know what it is, exactly, that the voters of California are allowed to vote on? It's a little late to get these clowns out of office, so we will have to be satisfied with what they give us.

.Mr Ingram stated........'JUST VOTE NO' on any and all bills YOU do not understand. JUST VOTE NO until bills are written that the average high school graduate can understand.

actually, this is a wise idea. I read the bills slowly and twice. I still vote no on most bills as they are not clear even to people who read contracts often.

J Bobin, You realize written sarcasm isn't easily understood when reading comments and its hard for me to give Kudo's when I am not sure what the writer means, so give this Old Man a break and when it comes to these important issues try to slow down the sarcasm.
    Thank You.

Jerome You are a smart human being and We need You to come up to present time and realize 'our enemies' are NOT CLOWNS.
They are intelligent power hungry humans and we cannot afford to misunderstand this. To underestimate an enemy is a mistake and let me tell You the 1% hold the high cards, especially when bribery is legal and lawyers can't agree what the new laws mean.

I pray also, not as much as I should it often seems to help, but I usually forget to ask.... with religion aside what can You and Me do to help ??

You are correct and the 800 lb gorilla is we cannot understand the bills they put forward for us to vote on....and if You think I over state the problem ask anyone what the bill "No Child left behind" really means and yet who could possibly vote NO to a bill named "No child left behind"
Here is how WE the 99% ers can handle that ......'JUST VOTE NO' on any and all bills YOU do not understand. JUST VOTE NO until bills are written that the average high school graduate can understand.
The truth is usually simple, Lies are what get complicated.
Not to worry Mr politician, the above simple solution will never catch on because ...humans love complication and drama. So I guess we have and always will have the government we deserve.

Darrell, not true. I was being sincere.

Sincere about what? Why did you talk about a governemnt check?

There have been at least 4 other liberal posters that have expressed animosity and anger toward Mr Kinderman and mocked him for getting a check form a government program he was forced to pay into. Yoou expect any one to believe that the mocker in chief (you) who mocks Mr. Kinderman often is suddenly sincere? That is beyond belief.

"chang stated disrespectfully...Jerry, just keep cashing your "government checks" and you'll be fine. Then mockingly stated... Enjoy!"

Darrell, not true. I was being sincere.

I would of suggested, like you, to "cancel your health insurance" but then remembered it's free (almost).

I would of suggested, like you, to "starve the governmental tax dragon" of your tax dollars and reduce income drastically but remembered somebody's "retired".

I imagine every Archconservative/Retrogressive is already stocked up on gold and and Thai baht...

    So I didn't ask.

Hypocritical to cash one's "governmental checks"??

Not at all. Don't be absurd!!

I think it more appropriate to consider chang's bigotry and anger with the group he hates... His posts drip with animosity that he attempts to hide through his mocking style of posts.

Typical liberal bigot we have in chang... Mr. Kinderman and all conservatives who desire less government and many times talk about reducing government entitlements are ridiculed by irresponsible liberals when they participate in collecting said entitlements.

That ridicule is absurd as these entitlements are forced. Taxes are mandatory and prevent conservatives from using that money to invest and support themselves. If Jerry was forced to pay into a government entitlement, that means he was restrained in an unfair way from taking alternate actions with his own money.
It is not hypocritical to oppose entitlements and collect from them once you have been forced to pay into it.
If liberals would just agree to make entitlements optional, that would solve the problem. Let me opt out and I’m fine with people participating who want to participate

The gall? The nerve? The process of passing constitutional amendments that require a 2/3rds majority to repeal was a sad and desperate move to preempt the changing political consensus. If we were to ignore the valid arguments that human rights ought not to be put in the hands of the voters, we would still have to consider that a majority of Californians (and Americans) now support LGBT marriage quality.

"Though they passed Prop 8 by five points, Californians now favor legal same-sex marriage by the same margin, a ten-point reversal in three years."

Hilarious. I always love it when people think that they can "VOTE AWAY" the rights that were bestowed by the Constitution.

"I am disgusted that more Americans didn't vote - they never seem to come out in droves like they ought to."

Disgusted that the "RIGHT" kind of Americans didn't vote.

Just counting the votes cast for Obama and Romney, 126,405,821 people voted in the 2012 election. US population is about 311,000,000.

That is 41% of the total population.

    That leaves about 185 million.

    - 1 million voted for Gary Johnston
    - 1 million write-in votes or "other" candidates
    - 80 million under the age of 18
    - 3 million incarcerated
    - 19 million legal non-citizens
    - 12 million illegal aliens

That leaves about 69 million unaccounted for. Unless these were all church-goers, maybe it's lucky they didn't turn out!

Mr. Coleman - the time to get these "clowns out of office" passed on November 6th. The people of California not only gave them an extension of power but now it's defined as a "super" power in the State Legislature.

At this point there's only a few things we can do. First, we can continue to pray for God to direct our leaders as they make decisions that will affect all of our lives for a very long time. Second, we can hope and pray that they fail.

There are reasons why the election turned out the way it did - and none of them make any sense, at least not in the "common" form that Americans and Californians once used prior to casting their votes. For instance, who would have thought that an incumbent president with such an abysmal first term would ever be granted another? Americans have been blinded by this terrible disease known as Political Correctness. There is no more right or wrong. I take that back - there's no more wrong.

God is being eradicated from the public square behind this so-called separation of church and state. We have no moral compass therefore as long as it feels good and it's easy, then all bets are off and let the fun begin!

I am disgusted that more Americans didn't vote - they never seem to come out in droves like they ought to. The only real power we possess is with that one act every couple of years and most would rather just kick back in their comfy easy chairs watching their wide-screen cable/satellite systems while wafting in the soothing and oh-so-mind numbing garbage that emanates from New York and Hollywood.

Well, this is what we get Mr. Coleman - we deserve every bit of it because we haven't done the heavy lifting to keep America strong, good and decent - we don't vote. We have only ourselves to blame; and I only fear it will get much worse before it finally turns around.
