In the past 12 years, over 14,000 rockets from Gaza were fired into Israel targeting civilians; often children going to or coming home from school. Residents have been traumatized, maimed and killed from ongoing rocket attacks. Israeli President Shimon Peres said, "Our enemies are terrorists who operate without reason. While Israel desires peace, Israel will do whatever is necessary to protect its citizens."

Can people from Lodi imagine being attacked daily by rockets from Woodbridge? Gaza is a mere 5 miles away from Ashkelon, Israel, a city of over 100,000 people.

Recently, in the middle of a military operation with Israeli cities pounded by rockets day and night, Israel continued to provide electricity and water to Gaza, as well as medical care for Palestinians.

Hamas terrorists shot rockets from Shifa Hospital, disregarding the safety of their own people. Israelis did not return fire because they knew Gaza needed the hospital.

Hamas deliberately targeted Israeli civilians, firing over 1,500 rockets in one week, often shooting rockets from residential areas — sometimes shooting their own citizens.

Israeli jet fighters had numerous chances to fire in Gaza. When they looked inside buildings and saw there was the possibility of children being present, 500 of these attacks were not made.

After the ceasefire, the No. 2 person in Hamas, Musa Abu Marzook, told the Associated Press: "We'll continue attacking because violence is the only way to get concessions." Within days of ceasefire, Iran was arming Hamas.

A reminder: The Mideast is not the Midwest!

Meanwhile...The Obama administration continues to fund and arm Muslim extremists in Syria who openly display their contempt for the United States by burning American flags in public.

    Andrew,

I doubt it because that means she will have to admit she no longer can claim Obama is without fault. We'll have to see. She may indeed throw us a curve and say Obama had no choice but to stick with the Bush plan of funding those extremists. After all, it was Grandpa Prescott Bush who was affiliated with investment institutions that funded the Third Reich. There's no need to break tradition. In fact, I'm sure there is ample evidence showing many Presidential administrations funding extremist groups who hate America. But Not the Obama Admin. No No No. He would do nothing of the sort.[lol][beam]

Do you think Ms. Bobin will attempt to explain why the White House is funding extremists who hate America? [lol]

    Ms. Bobin,

It's called negotiating with the enemy in order to achieve a goal. I know the concept is alien to you. Many wars and battles have been one or lost based on how negotiations went..

The State Department decided to add Hamas to its U.S. State Department list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations in April 1993. As of 11/28/12 Hamas is still listed as such. [sleeping]

and who do you think the "rebel forces" in Syria are Ms. Bobin? [sleeping]

The US backs the rebel forces in Syria.

Hamas abandons Assad and backs the rebel forces.

Andrew Liebich concludes - the US backs Hamas in Syria.

There are only so many sides you can support. Do you propose the US should start supporting Assad? Would that make your little conspiracy theorist world feel better?

While Israel conducts combat operations against Hamas in Gaza, the United States is backing Hamas in Syria. [sleeping]
