Obama’s economic plans are always met with Republican stonewalling

Senate Minority Leader McConnell brutally spelled out the GOP’s priorities one day after President Obama’s inauguration, which was to ensure that Obama is “a one-term president.”

His second priority is protecting “your (Republican) brand.” That’s right — the reason to worry about a downturn that could kill millions of jobs and wipe out what’s left of our retirement and housing values is that it might interfere with GOP positioning.

During the national debt ceiling negotiations, President Obama offered Speaker Boehner a 10-year budget deficit spending cut deal which offered $6 of spending cuts for each $1 of revenue. Speaker Boehner agreed with that plan. Speaker Boehner could not sell their plan to the Teabaggers in the U.S. House of Representatives. The plan did not meet their agenda of more tax breaks for large corporations, less government environmental regulations, small government, cut spending on the poor, seniors, student loans, etc.

Yes, Mr. Krueg, the U.S. government almost failed to pay its bills because of the Teabaggers in Congress. President Obama’s jobs bill was not a joke! It balanced spending and debt reduction.

During the last three months of George W. Bush’s administration, 700,000 jobs were lost per month per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That was OK?

President Obama has made numerous efforts to negotiate bipartisan economic plans, only to be met by stonewalling, obstructionist Republicans in the U.S. Congress. They are hypocrites and only care about protecting “your GOP brand.”
