I was very happy to see the letter by Mr. Alexander Aliferis. I couldn’t have said it better.

Think about California, and Lodi a minute. We are the most taxed, regulated in the country.

Years ago the state sales tax was 4 percent and a candy bar 5 cents. Today the sales tax is 8 percent and a candy bar is what, $1.25? This state is totally run by Democrats and taxes are to them like heroin to an addict.

I am voting no on all measures that are tax increases, except maybe for police.

Take the parks measure. With all the new housing, and things going on, parks are getting a ton of money coming in.

I think a total review from the person at the top of the parks needs to be done.

I go to Santa Rosa often to house and dog sit. I take the dog daily to a city park.

Someone should visit Santa Rosa and see how they run their parks. They are fantastic. Spring Lake is beautiful, complete with a grill where you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner, beer and wine.

You are married, have three kids, a house payment, car payment, and money is tight. Do you go to your boss and ask for a raise? No, you cut back if needed. Government never cuts back, they just go as Alexander said, to the ATM machine — we the people — and get a raise. Government is supposed to fear we the people, but I am afraid it is we the people who fear our government.
