It was amusing to see Bill Clinton speaking at the Democratic National Convention, praising his administration for balancing the budget, having a surplus and ending welfare as we know it. Clinton governed from the hard left until Newt Gingrich and his Contract for America forced a change in Congress in 1994. Clinton was smart enough to tack to the middle and work with Congress.

What a contrast to the miserable record of Obama — $5 trillion more in debt, our credit rating downgraded, unemployment over 8 percent, and the Middle East on fire, burning him in effigy as well as our flag, and torturing and killing our ambassador to Libya. For almost two weeks his administration wouldn't acknowledge these as "terrorist attacks" even though the date (Sept. 11) was significant, and in spontaneous uprisings, the people don't have hand grenades and sophisticated weapons.

His response: Run off to a fundraiser in Las Vegas and then one in the Midwest. He can't find the time to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, but he can appear on Letterman and "The View," and hang out with Beyonce. When the U.N. just met in New York City, he wouldn't take the opportunity to meet with world leaders and gave the job to Hillary Clinton.

Sen. McCain recently called Obama AWOL as Commander-in-Chief. He skipped at least half of the security briefings prior to 9/11. Why wasn't there added security at our embassies on 9/11? Starting in the spring U.S. intelligence had been worried about radical militias in eastern Libya. In late August, the State Department warned American citizens who were planning to travel to Libya about the threat of assassinations and car bombings.

But U.S. diplomatic missions had minimal security; "neither the consulate in Benghazi nor the embassy in Tripoli were guarded by U.S. Marines, whose deployment to Libya wasn't a priority."

According to the Wall Street Journal on Sept. 27, Ambassador Stevens' diary said he was "concerned about the 'never-ending' security threats in Benghazi and was on an al-Qaida hit list."

And this guy wants four more years?

    Darrell,

Good points. And to add. Obama has no intention of criticizing Sharia Law. So, there are really few reasons why the leaders of the Middle East would not embrace him. And, in the case of visiting Israel. I can see why Obama has only visited Israel once. He has almost zero criticism from the leaders of the Middle East. Why would he want to tarnish it.

ms Bobin stated...Headline: "Bush to make first presidential visit to Israel"
    · West Bank and Gulf states also on itinerary... · Trip intended to boost Middle East peace process

Good catch Ms Bobin... President Obama felt very comfortable in going to the middle east, no doubt. In fact, it was as if he were returning to his home town... no matter if bowing to a Saudi King, or any blood thirsty dictator, he did not fear retaliation or violence as the Muslim world saw him in such a friendly light. So of course if he went to Israel, he would not have to worry about any problems.

Bush of the other hand was branded a murderer, killer, satin and enemy to mankind by our own liberal media and on a daily basis beat the drum of hate. They threw gas on the fire and made sure anger and hate would follow Bush no matter where he went.

Sorry Mr Barrow. I never agree with everything any personality states anywhere. I did not agree with everything in this letter. For example, I did not think it amusing Bill Clinton spoke at the convention ... I thought it simply demonstrated the lack of concern liberals have for woman who are victims of sexual abuse. That is not amusing to me.

Mr Borrow, since you perceive you can judge what is fair and balanced news, can you post the names of 6 journalists or news personalities that you think are objective and balanced. I do not think it possible that you can name one.

Heres a clue Darrell if you agree with everything a news source tells you they are probably not objective and ballanced

I give high praise to the two Navy Seals who fought off the terrorists for over seven hours before dieing. Semper Fi!!!

I give high ridicule to the asses who sat on their hands and did NOTHING to help ANY of those killed. Disdain is too small a word to describe my view of these "smart" people.

I have only disgust for a "commander" who would rather make a speech than a decision...especially when lives are at stake. The phone rang mr obama...you didn't even answer it!!

As for Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton, they are mere stooges...who think they too can talk their ways out of this cesspool of an administration.

I'd say he is doing far better than George Walker Bush did in SEVEN years:

Headline: "Bush to make first presidential visit to Israel"

    · West Bank and Gulf states also on itinerary
    · Trip intended to boost Middle East peace process

The Guardian, Wednesday 19 December 2007

"It will be the first time in his seven years as president that Bush will have visited Israel, the West Bank, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states."

Mr. Baumbach wrote: "I believe liberals hate Fox News because they cannot stand objective balanced journalism and commentary."

For someone who claims NEVER to watch television and has stridently stated he NEVER watches FOX News, I don't know how you can claim they are "objective," "balanced," or by a far stretch, "journalism."

    Ms. Bobin,

Obama has only visited Israel once. It was right after Obama got elected. Now, I think even you would question how a man who supports Israel would only visit the country once while President.

Mike stated...This letter is about 2 weeks too late.

Actually, I think it is just about the right time... as people sitting of the fence are finally paying attention about voting issues... Clearly, Eunice Friederich articulated truth which to me, is never too late to appreciate.

Some liberals ( like Ms Bobin) prefer to get their news from rumors and gossip generated from local bingo parlors, but I prefer educated objective information like what this letter brought. I believe liberals hate Fox News because they cannot stand objective balanced journalism and commentary. However, I think this letter was independent of any TV station.

Well, I'll be...good ol' Eunice Friederich has been resurrected after all these years. After she and her tag-team partner, PR, wrote nearly weekly letters in the late '80's and '90's screaming that the US should get out of the UN, she's complaining that President Obama didn't "meet with world leaders" there. Imagine that!

And now the US ambassador had been "tortured?"

This letter reads like the daily drivel from FOX News.
