Small thoughtful gestures are meaningful

"Making a difference" is not just a catch phrase. Small, thoughtful gestures have always been meaningful, but never more so than in these stressful times, especially when they come from an unexpected source.

On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, neighbors surrounding Reese School opened their front doors to find a small bouquet of flowers and colorful leaves. With the flowers was a handmade card thanking us for being good neighbors to Reese School. Each card was signed by a student in Mrs. Hennecke's second-grade class, wishing us a happy Thanksgiving.

We were touched by this thoughtful gesture, and commend Mrs. Hennecke for teaching her class to think of others.

Thank you, children, for giving us another reason to be thankful.
