Letter: Don’t lump all Trump supporters into one deplorable basket
Posted: September 27, 2016

The late New York Times columnist, William Safire, once referred to Hillary Clinton as a congenital liar. In questioning by Congressman Trey Gowdy, FBI agent, Comey gave a litany of untruths spoken by Hillary, but refused recommendation for prosecution. Many have been prosecuted for less. It seems obvious that the FBI has been politicized. Obama and Clinton’s state department policies have left a mess in Libya, touted a disastrous nuclear agreement with Iran that has already been broken numerous times, promoted a phony reset with Russia, lied to the American people about Benghazi, etc.

It seems like there is always some special observance around the corner. There is even a World Day for Farmed Animals. It’s observed fittingly on Oct. 2 (Gandhi’s birthday). It’s intended to memorialize the tens of billions of animals abused and killed for food around the world.

Each of us is only one degree from someone with cancer. We all know someone who’s battled this disease, and many of us have fought cancer ourselves. As someone who lost a loved one, I traveled to Washington, D.C., two weeks ago to represent the voice of cancer survivors and patients in my congressional district.

Letter: Was letter paid ad for Clinton?
Posted: September 24, 2016

In the opinion letter of Sept. 20 by Ms. DelSolar, I was wondering if Hillary’s campaign paid for that letter as it seemed like a direct quote from her many speeches that negate Trump’s whole being. I don’t feel it belongs in an opinion column.

Letter: We’ve made clear progress under Obama
Posted: September 16, 2016

A new U.S. census report shows the most positive economic news in years for the country. Household incomes and job growth are up, and the poverty rate is down. The number of Americans without health insurance is the lowest ever. This is mainly the result of the 2009 stimulus and Democratic economic policies. And yet, Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan gave a speech last week proclaiming Obama’s policies and presidency a complete failure. The good speaker now has an egg dripping down his face.

Letter: Residents should have more access to school grounds
Posted: August 31, 2016

I know that Lodi Unified wants to pass another school bond in this coming election. As a community member I am very displeased by the (for lack of a better word) exclusiveness of Lodi schools. By this I mean the locked gates and now prison bars which are appearing across the city in the name of security. In contrast, I recall the day when community members could walk to schools on Saturdays or afternoons and play Frisbee or fly kites.

The only colluding between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump of which I’m aware involves the former telling the latter that he doesn’t want war with the U.S. in turn, the latter tells the former that he doesn’t want war with Russia. Putin is looking better every day, winning admirers not only in his own country but also worldwide. The controllers of Hillary Clinton have her in the palms of their hands. Such isn’t the situation with Donald Trump.

Letter: Blown away by Lodi’s wine offerings
Posted: August 17, 2016

About a year ago, my wife and I moved from Pasadena to Stockton. She was in the final year of her doctorate in psychology and was doing her internship at UOP. I found a job teaching in a small town called Lodi. We had never heard of Lodi before moving to the area and we will never forget the beauty, the community, and the wine. We fell in love with the town and when it came time to move back to L.A. at the end of my wife’s program, we were not eager to leave.
