What is the younger generation coming to? Judging by the efforts of Jennifer Hetzner of Lodi, the younger generation is making a very positive difference.
We were moved by the the recent account of Dr. Hetzner helping lead efforts to provide clean and safe water to underdeveloped parts of the world. Hetzner is involved with Water Work, a nonprofit that filters water in remote locations. By her account, 2.2 million people die each year from preventable water-borne diseases.
She is determined to change that.
She has a long-standing passion for helping others. In 2005, working with Unite For Sight, she opened an emergency care clinic in Honduras
Hetzner is a Lodi High School grad and an emergency room physician in Sacramento. A shining example of compassion in action.
“She is a fearless warrior. She’s a hero in my book,” said Fraser Kershaw, founder of Water Work. “She’s what all doctors should strive to be. A majority of doctors wouldn’t do what she does.”
