Thanks for the information, Mr. Birch. Appreciate that explanation.

Sorry, Mr. Tillett - I clicked on "report" instead of "reply" by mistake.

Hope your comment is not deleted - although I'm STILL not sure of the protocol for deleting comments. You can click on "report" all day and still an offensive comment will stand in this forum.

My original post from yesterday AM about "educated" people was gone within minutes!

Perhaps we are misinterpreting here and Dr. Hansen is still writing satire?

    I'm guessing "no."

Well he also purports that discrimination is a thing of the past by using the past tense. Whew, I'm glad to hear no one is being discriminated against on the basis of their race, religion, sex, or sexual preference, nor have they for the last 50-60 years, according to our esteemed writer, formerly known as satirist.

Also, he confuses the concepts of slavery and discrimination, blithely omitting the former.

I wonder why no one has ever complained that both Flame Liquors has and Apple Market had the same policy - only allowing 2 students in the store at a time when school was letting out?

Flame had that policy in effect even before it changed hands several years ago, when Pete G. owned it.

These stores have obviously been subject to high amounts of theft. Is it possible that they were only "guessing" who the culprits were?

Seriously? Stating that so-called "educated" people are less than educated in their thinking is offensive?

If anything, this column is downright racist and sexist. If that opinion is a problem, please delete this comment.

Otherwise, Dr. Hansen should stand up to his critics.

So, now there is a "double standard", one for public figures and one for the average citizen? More liberal hogwash.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
