I got one of these "Cars" for running all my errands on. Kids love it as much as I do. I've had days where talking to people about the car has taken longer than the shopping trip I took it out for.

Great story, thank you for sharing it. There are adult versions that are quite functional. I am building one from a kit. It is road legal. They are called Velomobiles.

The version I am buidling was designed to be built like a kit airplane without wings. It is a light weight stressed aluminum skin with formed aluminum bulkheads. You can find out more information on http://pedalyourselfhealthy.org/. Email David Eggleston for more information as well.

I put my own SPIN on building this velomobile. I am about 90% complete with this kit but have swapped the external stressed skin for Graphite Epoxy composite material, the same material being used in the new crop of launch vehicles carrying supplies to the space station. This is one of the perks of working for Stockton's only Aerospace Company.

I will have electric assist with this vehicle and once completed, I will use it on my daily commute that I estimate will cost me $.12 in electricity and two burritos each day.

You can find out more information on my project by looking up FAW+CYCLONE on Facebook.

For those in Lodi and Stockton area, you will know when you see me on the road. The velomobile looks like and is about the size of a killer whale and makes almost no noice while cruising at speed.
