I think Joe made some good points but it left me wondering what it is that we are looking for that translates into a good candidate. Since Brown and Boxer won, does that in itself make them good candidates? Personally, I am disillusioned with professional politicians. What attracted me to the tea party candidates, as well as Meg Whitman and Carli was that they were not the typical candidates that had long careers in government. The fact that Whitman used her own money instead of special interests was a plus for me.
There is a blogger at this web site that I have been critical of, Manuel Martinez. I would have preferred someone like him, who is passionate and articulate in his beliefs, to run for governor rather than Brown. Professional politicians have run this country down and have resulted in a mess. Couldn’t get much worse. I hope the next election features candidates on both sides, left and right, who are tea party types of thinkers and new to the system, not necessarily tea party candidates.
