Sociopaths are everywhere. About 1 in 5 demonstrate easily-recognized sociopathic behavior. I am very good at spotting one of these types in the first 30-seconds of meeting them. Sadly, very few know what a sociopath is to begin with, and wind up being harmed in some way because of it.

Sociopaths love attention. They are the center of the universe, and consider themselves to be superior to everyone else. They manipulate everyone around them to get what they want, and they are very good at what they do. They have no conscience whatsoever, and sleep like babies at night despite the horrible things they do to others. Our best tack to take with the Madoffs is to just ignore them.

Madoff is one of the most reprehensible crooks ever. It is shameful that anyone associated with him is making money from publishing books, i.e., his daughter-in-law and his wife.

What amazes me more is the quantity of people who invested with this crook. It is a testament to greed. Most of these victims should have had the intelligence to realize that Madoff's "deals" were too good to be true, but put their money on what they thought would give them monumental returns.

    Who are the real victims?

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
