You are very real Mrs. Paden . Never do I sense a time in your column as being dull or lifeless. I am enjoying every word that you choose to share. I never had you as an English teacher way back but you still carry all the benefits of the knowledge and expectations you had / have for your students with you to this day.

It is rather refreshing to read your words as we all still strive be as good expressing our thoughts. You speak from the heart and ultimately that is what counts.

I attempt to write the same as I speak which doesn't always match up with the formal format for writing. I make errors that are uncalled for and yet sometimes are exactly what I wanted. Some of the time the intent was misread - thus going back to a formal format corrects the error. I could use your class time for it is a matter of desire to reset my writing skills. Will and desire are sometimes two different things however.

I do know the send button is way to easy to hit. It is a rule of a writing class to check your work before finalizing. - Self checking doesn't catch everything though as it came out of my own brain to begin with. Spell check helps but simply sometimes rewrites a word with an attempt to correct and then I have to battle it as well.

A third party reader will proofread and improve just about anybody. Proofreaders have their value . It is why highly skilled writers are invaluable as they can say exactly what they mean at any time. Personally it is hard to measure up to . I have met book writers that have said it is difficult to get it right by yourself - hard to see.

I am enjoying every moment of every word you write Mrs. Paden.

It is truly a pleasure to read about a glimpse of your life .

I am looking forward to your next column.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
