Gwin Paden: On much-needed rain, poets and the need to plan ahead

And now, at last, rain! The cats are not happy, but anybody human is — or should be. We should be at least an inch in the right direction. It would be nice if someone would just pick up the eastern side of the country and tilt it so some of their snow and rain would run in this direction! Empty reservoirs are waiting with open mouths.
