Great News, Frank! While we cheer for the successful construction of a Marine Highway 580 we must not only thank the genius of Mike, but his talented team, which includes the Port of Stockton, to make this become reality!

As an importer and whole-seller, I often have to go to Oakland, all the way across the entire Centrol Valley (from Modesto) in order to clear Customs. Now with M-580 the International “Door” to China would be right here in Stockton!

The M580/I80 Marine Highway Project has really happened. The Marine Highway allows for ocean type containers to be loaded at the Port of Stockton, and then be barged down to the Port of Oakland. Frank has pointed out it shortened the distance and I would add a phrase “it also shortened the psychological gaps” as well. Actually, it has already begun shortening my Exporting/Importing procedures with China!

Having read your article, I’ve forwarded it to my potential buyers in China (a couple of days ago) and I’ve already received several positive responses. One group from Shandong Province is now building a 1000sq meter multi story “Foods Warehouse Center” to display meat, produce, seafood, nuts, dry fruits, etc. It will be the largest food trade center in the city of Weifang (3 million population). When I communicated with them the potential of exporting California Products to China they immediately agreed with my suggestion that they send a delegation to come over and see what we have to offer. I have been successfully involved for many years in bringing delegations to California for cultural exchanges, and now I have the opportunity to search for products with the current M/5880 in place. It encourages me to continue in bringing more delegations for mutual economic development. As a member of Lodi Chamber of Commerce, I am sure myself and the entire Chamber will find more business prospects, and I will be pleased to help other Members to mutually benefit as well. Last of all, Frank, your news says you’ll go to China in September. Now I’m forwarding a message to you that you are invited by the above Foods Trade Center, in city of Weifang (through my introduction) by the Owner, Mingcheng Group, Limited.

In the most recent past it would seem Galt has kept hidden it's exceptional characteristics and future potential. Here, Mr. Gayaldo is paving a path for those special qualities to step up and allow Galt to truly stand out from the crowd. Indeed, our future is ours to make.
Mr. Gayaldo refers to "putting the pieces together". Most recently I have witnessed this assemblage in the citizens, businesses , families and students of Galt rallying together to re-open our Galt Elementary School Libraries. With each day I am amazed and blessed by individuals in this fair town that cross all lines of culture and socioeconomic standing; joining as one for the future of our youngest citizens. When aligned, Galt is a force to be reckoned with. It is my sincere wish that we remain united as we strive for the economic prosperity our future most surely holds.

Frank's article is very enlightening. Innovation in commerce is critical to our success as a country. The Port of Stockton is doing something good here! I would like to see other entities do something similar. If we keep doing what we have always done then Einstein's quote is true, "thinking that you will get different results" is foolhearty.
Frank's previous article on water was outstanding. Keep the articles coming Frank.
